The Hungarian Renaissance Foundation is the Hungarian partner in the MODI-FY project supported by Erasmus+ which runs from 2014-2017.
The aim of “MODI-FY - Maintaining Historic Buildings and Objects through Developing and Up-grading Individual Skills of Project Managers: Fostering European Heritage and Culture for Years to come” is to develop innovative Training for public organisations, NGO and companies, dealing with maintenance of historic sites/buildings; this includes the recognition of previous learning (already available skills) and the establishment of a European certificate issued by ECQA (www.ecqa.org). Management of historic sites and buildings puts great demands on the responsible organisations. Staff and volunteers need appropriate skills to care for historic assets and their users and visitors. Heritage is a significant economic asset and tourism resource. Heritage also performs a vital role in helping to define a community’s sense of place/civic pride and also in attracting inward investment. Therefore the education and professionalism of project managers (PMs) and volunteers (VOL) looking after these historic buildings is an essential step towards the European economic future. There is no specific VET and/or other education available across Europe that contains all required skills/competences for people working for responsible bodies of historic properties; this is the aim of MODI-FY.
